The format for this laboratory report will be a little different than the formal journal style lab reports which you will be preparing for the rest of the labs. You will be responsible for any pertinent mechanistic diagrams from the preparation of derivatives to confirm your unknowns. Only a discussion section will be necessary for this report. You will be expected to provide a systematic, yet concise identification of the single unknown and unknown mixture, including at least one derivative in addition to the "wet chemical tests," and instrumental analysis.
